Southampton have appointed former Nice boss Claude Puel as their new manager.
The
54-year-old Frenchman, who left the Ligue 1 club in May after four
years in charge, has signed a three-year contract with Saints.He replaces Ronald Koeman, who took over at Everton on 16 June.

RIO OLYMPICS 2016
Kyrie Irving, Carmelo Anthony and Klay Thompson have all been named in the US squad for the Olympics.
Kevin Durant of Oklahoma City Thunder also made the 12-man team. Thompson's Golden State Warriors team-mates Harrison Barnes and Draymond Green were also named, but Steph Curry, the NBA's most valuable player, had already ruled him out
Irving's Cleveland Cavaliers team-mate LeBron James also withdrew in June, explaining: "I could use the rest."
James led the Cavaliers to this season's NBA title as they became the first team to overturn a 3-1 deficit in the best-of-seven finals against the Warriors.
The US will be favourites to win a third consecutive Olympic gold under coach Mike Krzyzewski, who will leave after the games following a decade in the job.

Roy Hodgson has resigned as
England manager after his side suffered a shock 2-1 defeat by Iceland to
crash out of Euro 2016 at the last-16 stage.
The 68-year-old had
been in charge for four years after replacing Italian Fabio Capello but
has won just three of 11 games in major tournament finals.Hodgson, who won 33 of his 56 games as England boss, would have been out of contract at the end of the tournament.
The former Liverpool and West Brom boss was due to discuss a possible contract renewal but Football Association chairman Greg Dyke said he would only stay on if England "do well" in France.

Laurent Blanc has left his position as manager of Paris St-Germain after three years at the French league champions.
Blanc, who signed a new two-year deal in February, led PSG to the Ligue 1 title in each of his three seasons in charge, but lost in the Champions League quarter-finals each year.Sevilla boss Umai Emery has been linked with the vacant post.
Emery, 44, won the Europa League with the La Liga side in each of his three full seasons in charge.

Southampton striker Sadio Mane will have a medical at Liverpool on Monday after the clubs agreed a transfer fee of £34m.
The fee could rise to £36m, making the deal one of Liverpool's most expensive, rivalling £32.5m for Christian Benteke and £35m for Andy Carroll.Manager Jurgen Klopp wants to boost his attacking options and made Mane a prime transfer target this summer.
It had been thought the Saints wanted closer to £40m for the Senegalese.
The deal is expected to be confirmed on Tuesday.

Italy produced a passionate and tactically brilliant display to end Spain's quest for a third consecutive European Championship title and secure a mouth-watering quarter-final tie against world champions Germany.
Using wing-backs Mattia de Sciglio and Alessandro Florenzi to brilliant effect, they were the more potent attacking team until they withdrew in defence of their lead in the final stages.
Giorgio Chiellini scored the game's opening goal, bundling home from close range after David de Gea had parried an Eder free-kick in greasy conditions in the first half.
And Southampton striker Graziano Pelle sealed victory in injury time, volleying home from eight yards after an attempted clearance from substitute Matteo Darmian's cross had looped up invitingly as Italy hit a tiring team on the break.

BASKETBALL
Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Golden State Warriors side 115-101 to force a decisive game seven in the NBA finals.Victory in Oakland on Monday would make the Cavaliers the first team to win the finals having trailed 3-1.It would also be their first NBA title.
Lat year's MVP Stephen Curry top scored for his side with 30 points.
LeBron James scored 41 points for the Cavaliers and Kyrie Irving added 23 in front of a home crowd at the Q Arena.
Golden State set an NBA record of 73 wins in the regular season.
KENYAN FOOTBALL
The recent performance by Kenyan teams in the African Confederation
Cup is a disaster to Kenyan football. Gor Mahia and Bandari the top two
clubs in Kenya after winning the premier league unbeaten and winning
the GOTV tournament respectively, were eliminated at the first round of
the competition. Gor Mahia were defeated by CNaPS Sports of Madagascar
while Bandari were eliminated by St Eloi Lupopo of DRC Congo. The FKF
should organise more friendlies with African countries to play against
Kenya. They should also urge clubs in Kenya to play in friendlies with
the other big clubs in Africa. The Starlets recent qualification to
African Cup of Nation is a dream come true to the Nation and the FKF.
They should organise friendlies so as they get the experience to play in
the tournament. The players and coaches will also have an idea how this
team plays and learn one or two techniques that help in the growth of
Kenyan football. When we play with these teams even it will help the in
the growth of the National team and uping the standards of our game. The
FKF should also organise tournament and invite clubs from other leagues
in Africa to participate. FKF should organise friendlies with other
teams from other continent not only Africa. If we organise more
friendlies the country football will grow and also majority of young
talented players will get a chance to play in the international
limelight and acquire skills that will help the National team to qualify
for African Cup of Nations and the World Cup. It will also increase the
numbers of Kenyan players who are playing abroad. Organise friendlies
to help growth of National football.

AFRICAN FOOTBALL
The Super Eagles player and coach Stephen Keshi his legacy will remainin Nigeria and the whole World more so in Africa. He is one of the
best ever coach Nigeria has ever had. He is one of few coaches winning
the AFCON has a player and also as a coach. Is death will be a major
blow to African football. He will be remembered for winning the AFCON
as a player (1994) and as a coach (2014). His legacy will surely live
in our hearts and Let's help grow African football as he would want us
to do. Rest in Peace Champion.
